What will the future of humanity be like? What challenges will we face?

Many people wonder what the future of humanity holds. There are a lot of fictional stories related to this topic as well. However, if we put aside all of the fictional part of our future for now, what will our world actually look like in the future? Here are two examples of what I believe would happen in specific cases.

First of all, in the future, there is a high chance that people would be able to edit and “fix” the DNAs. This is a very commonly discussed subject when it comes to the future of our world. Right now, humans are born without any choice. They do not choose how they look before they’re born, and most of their appearance is based on genetics passed down from their ancestors. For example, you might look like a mixture of your mother’s appearance and your dad’s appearance. However, what if people in the future are able to choose their own genetics and how they look? What if this went beyond appearance and included their full genetic make up? Unfortunately a lot more people than we think are born with terrible genetic disorders and diseases. One example is something as serious as cancer, which is a heartbreaking disease that nobody deserves to suffer from. But by editing or fixing damaged DNA, people in the future would be able to prevent themselves from getting diseases like cancer. However, this might be very unfair for the people born in previous generations. They too, might have wanted to change how they looked, or cured genetic diseases, but they didn’t have the technology to do so. Also, if children have their appearances chosen before they are born, it isn’t technically them choosing, but rather their parents choosing for them. That could create numerous identity issues for the children and is one example of how complicated our future might look.

Secondly, there could also be some social issues caused in the future, which are problems that affect many people within a society. As discussed in the introduction, lots of authors describe our world’s future as a dystopia, but those predictions are not always going to be fictional- they can come true. For example, in the future we might see examples such as, as many people interpret, us not being able to have jobs, and like I said before, people changing their genes just for small reasons like their insecurities in their appearance If the world turns into a dystopia in the future, everything will quickly turn into chaos. Things might happen that were much more than we thought it would.

In summary, these are all of the things that I believe that the future of humanity holds. Even though we don’t know what will happen in the future, these are a few common examples of what people think it’s going to be like. I truly hope that our world doesn’t become a dystopia, and more like a utopia in the future. Our future holds so many things, and I can’t wait to see what it brings us.
